Votes For Women

This 2020 exhibit was the Masters project of Danielle Griego and co-curated with Bernalillo Community Museum Director Emily Stovel. Pivoting due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Griego supplemented the Smithsonian SITES exhibit Votes for Women with up-to-date local information on voting in Bernalillo and Sandoval Counties. The exhibit was shown in its entirety at two outdoor sites, at Gutiérrez Hubbell House and in the town of Bernalillo. Larger single panels were exhibited throughout Bernalillo and Sandoval Counties in an innovative, large-scale public installation that educated on the history of women’s suffrage while providing timely information for local voters. The exhibit was supplemented with active social media campaigns.

Ms. Griego received her MA with Distinction in Museum Studies from UNM in 2021.
